Role: Motion Designer, Compositor and Retoucher | Project: The Toy Hospital - Channel 5
A team of the nation's most passionate toy restorers come together, their hearts brimming with a shared mission to revive our old, but cherished dolls, toys, and games.
Desiring to go beyond a simple clip-based promotional video, we decided to undertake our own dedicated shoot. Our goal was to craft a heartfelt narrative that illustrates the life cycle of a cherished toy, capturing the moments that define its journey from newness to beloved companion. Through this creative endeavour, we aimed to tell a story that resonates with the joy and nostalgia associated with toys that hold a special place in our hearts.
During the creation of the title treatment I used old toy shop signage as my inspiration; both for the styling and the colour palette.
Toy Editing - Social Adapts
For our social media campaign, we aimed to showcase a variety of damaged toys beyond just our main teddy bear. We filmed an additional six toys, envisioning a 20-second teaser promo that would highlight these beloved items as they reached the end of their life cycle. However, after creating the initial teaser, we felt the toys didn’t appear damaged enough. I was tasked with enhancing their appearance to emphasise their wear and tear.
Main Promo Editing & Compositing
After filming several scenes with a teddy bear for The Toy Hospital, we noticed during our initial review of the promo that the continuity was off; the bear's damage didn’t align consistently with the timeline presented. I was assigned to edit and composite the teddy bear’s damage to resolve this issue.
